ESDR/JSID Young Fellow Collegiality Awards
New awards called the ESDR/JSID Young Fellow Collegiality Awards will be given at the 34th JSID Annual Meeting (Fukuoka, 2009). This new awards program will be initiated to provide young researchers of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR) and the JSID with opportunities for international academic exchanges. Awardees selected by the JSID will be given the opportunity to participate in presentations at the ESDR meeting and to visit various dermatological institutions in the countries hosting the ESDR meeting, so that they may experience exchanges with researchers of various countries. Awardees selected by the ESDR will be given the opportunity to participate in presentations at the JSID meeting and to visit dermatological institutions in Japan. Details regarding the new awards will be posted on the JSID Website (http://www.jsid.org/). At the start of this international awards program, we have decided that all presentations at the JSID's Annual Conference shall be given in English. (It will be possible to use Japanese during the discussions at the Concurrent Session.) The new awards program is expected to increase the number of international participants.
The 69th SID Annual Meeting
Dates: May 6 (Wed.) to 9 (Sat.), 2009

The 69th SID Annual Meeting will be held from 6th to 9th May, 2009 in Montreal, Canada The SID, as well as the ESDR, is sort of a sister academic society for the JSID. We believe that there are many members who have already submitted their abstracts for the meeting.

The attendance of many Japanese researchers at the SID meeting will not only contribute to the development of the dermatological research but also enhance the international status of the JSID. We understand that May will be one of the busiest months of the year for our members, but we would like you to attend the meeting using the last portion of your holidays in May.

The general editorial board meeting of the J Dermatol Sci will also be held on May 7th (12:00 - ) in Montreal. We would like to ask the JDS Board members to attend the editorial board meeting.
