2010 ESDR/JSID Collegiality Award Applications
Award details for Japanese Researchers
For Japan-based researchers, the eligibility criteria are:
- Member of the JSID
- Currently active in investigative dermatology within a Japanese University-based Department or Laboratory or similar Institution.
- Currently employed as a Resident, PhD student, Post-doctoral Research Fellow, Lecturer, Instructor or Assistant Professor. Ineligible are Associate Professors, Senior Lecturers, full Professors, Consultants, and Dermatologists in full-time clinical practice.
- The JSID will award successful applicants 300,000 yen to assist with travel and accommodation.
- The ESDR will waive the registration fee for its annual meeting.
- There will be the opportunity to present and discuss your data by visiting a Department in Europe.
NB Any additional costs (e.g. for travel and accommodation for the Departmental visit) will need to be borne by the applicant or the host Department.
| ■How Many Awards will there be? |
For 2010, the JSID plans to offer up to 3 awards
| ■How do I apply for an award? |
- Make sure you submit an abstract for the 2010 ESDR meeting in Helsinki, Finland
(deadline 28 May 2010; see ESDR website for details www.esdr2010.org)
- Apply by e-mail to the JSID (jsid@pop.med.hokudai.ac.jp)
(deadline for applications 15 June 2010)
Applications should include:
- Brief CV of applicant (one page)
- Details and goals of proposed department visit in Europe
- Brief note from head of department in Europe confirming his/her willingness to host you, if application is successful
- A copy of the abstract submitted for the ESDR meeting
- Publication list (English papers)
| ■Who will judge the applications? |
The judging panel will comprise 4 representatives of the JSID and one person nominated by the ESDR Board.
| ■When will Successful Applicants be notified? |
The JSID will aim to announce the names of the successful applicants by the middle of July.
The JSID and ESDR very much hope that these awards will help develop the careers and profile of young researchers by providing the opportunity for international exchange and collegiality.
